Family Camp

ADULT AND FAMILY CAMP INFORMATION

June 18-25, 2017
Sunday, June 18, 2:00 arrival, to Sunday, June 25, 10:30 AM
Silver Spur Camp, Tuolumne, California

INTRODUCTION
The camp structure is informal and flexible. The day begins with singing and a Bible story; the day concludes with campfire, singing, skits and inspiration. By choice, activities include: zip line, waterslide, high swing, archery, discussion groups, Bible study, hiking, line dancing, puzzles, swimming, skits, arts and crafts, tennis, softball, volleyball, basketball, water aerobics, singing lessons, visiting and relaxation. There is a preschool play yard with childcare for two hours each morning, age-level classes for children and youth, classes for adults and swimming lessons for children.

MEALS
All meals are served buffet style. A form for special dietary needs is available (look at the end of this package of forms). Campers are asked to help with table setting and clean up one meal during the week.

LODGING
There are 33 lodge rooms (dormitory style with 3 bunk beds, a sink and shared bathrooms), and 12 cabins up the hill/road with 4 bunk beds; restroom/showers are in a separate building.

THE COST
Camp cost is based on a room rate ($550 per room/cabin), plus a meal/activity charge per person. The meal/activity charge is tiered based on campers age:

  • $235 adults and youth, age 11 and older
  • $175 children, age 4-10
  • $ 75 toddlers, age 1-3

Optional Expense
Bedding Bundles for $10. Each bundle will include a towel set (bath, hand and washcloth), sheets, pillow & case, and a blanket. If you want to switch these out during the week for fresh linens or towels, the charge is another $10.

Day Use Fee (Off-Site Lodgers)

  • $50 per day for adults and youths
  • $30 per day for children
  • $20 per day for toddlers

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

TO HAVE YOUR ROOM RESERVED, SEND THE FOLLOWING BY MARCH 1ST

  1. Completed Registration Form
  2. Completed Release of Liability Form
  3. Completed Medical History and Medical Authorization Form
  4. Deposit ($100 minimum), campership request or staff commitment

PLEASE NOTE: The Registrar will not reserve Rooms until a Liability form that has been signed by everyone (age 18 and older) in your family AND a signed, completed Medical form is on file with the Registrar.

TO HAVE YOUR ROOM LOCKED-IN, FINAL PAYMENT IS DUE BY MAY 1ST. Without full payment or financial arrangement by May 1st, you will be put at the bottom of the queue for a room assignment.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT POLICIES
Reservations are made on a first-come basis and adults and families who can attend all week receive preference over part-time. There will be no refunds for unused days or meals. Individual members of your family may register part-time, however, the meals and activity fee is not prorated. In an effort to accommodate many and maintain the flexibility that makes this camp unique, please include all applicable information on the registration form. The actual number of days each person attends camp is necessary for Silver Spur billing and will help keep our fee at the lowest amount possible. Please indicate age if under 25, and any special needs. Youths under age 18 must be registered with, and sleep in a room or cabin with a family.

Adults and families who wish to register for a room but cannot attend all week are placed on a Wait List until May 1st. After that time these part-time registrations will be processed. Also, after May 1st, room registrations will be accepted, as space is available. The waiting list does not apply to part-time campers staying with someone registered full-time.

Following this checklist and sending it along with your forms will help ensure that your camp registration goes smoothly.

REGISTRATION
Information regarding who will be at camp, room choice and payment due.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM
A Release of Liability Form is required for registration to be processed. Everyone age 18 and older must sign a liability release form. Multiple signatures can be on one form. Children under 18 must have a form signed by a parent. Generally, only one form is needed per family. Additional forms are needed for grandchildren or friends attending camp without a parent./p>

MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION AND MEDICAL HISTORY FORM
Everyone is required to have a Medical Authorization And Medical History Form on file. Forms are required for registration to be complete. Generally, one form per family is acceptable, but children under 18 attending camp without a parent must have a separate form signed by a parent.

BRING
Sleeping bags or bedding, pillows, towels, swim suits, “tankinis" that cover the midriff (see Silver Spur Pool Guidelines), personal items, Bible, sunscreen, bug spray, spending money for soda machine and afternoon snack bar, tennis rackets, softball glove, etc. and musical instruments.

IF POSSIBLE BRING
Healthy (bedtime) snacks to share after evening campfire. Several families sign up for this each day. CVS drug store and a major grocery store are nearby if needed.

DO NOT BRING
Toy weapons, guns, water pistols, tricycles, bicycles, big wheels, skateboards, scooters, etc.

FROM SACRAMENTO - IF TAKING HWY 49

  1. Travel south on HWY 49/ Washington St.
  2. Go through Sonora to HWY 108.
  3. Turn left onto HWY 108 East.
  4. Go approx. 1 mile to Mono Way Exit.
  5. Take the Mono Way Exit.
  6. Follow Directions below starting from #1.

FROM OAKDALE - IF TAKING HWY 108

  1. Travel east 4 miles from Jamestown on 108
  2. Take the Mono Way exit. Turn right onto Mono Way.
  3. (You will pass a Ford dealership on your left and a Mother Lode Motors Kia Dealership on your right.) Drive 1 mile.
  4. Turn right on Tuolumne Rd / (E17).
  5. Travel 4 miles on Tuolumne Rd and turn right onto Woodham Carne Rd.
  6. Travel 1.5 miles and turn slight left onto Yosemite Rd.
  7. Travel 1.4 miles and turn right at the Silver Spur sign (Silver Spur Dr).
  8. Drive 1.2 miles and end in parking lot.
